These terms govern your access to and use of topslop.ca. They form an agreement between you and 9574-5592 Québec inc., operating publicly as Top Slop, when you use the website.
These are website terms only. They do not constitute a purchase agreement, grant a copy of the game, or replace the agreement of a storefront or the end-user terms that may accompany Top Slop. The separate content and safety rules apply when you submit material through the game.
1. Operator and scope
topslop.ca is operated by 9574-5592 Québec inc., a company based in Quebec, Canada, under the public name Top Slop. References to “Top Slop,” “we,” “us,” or “our” in these terms mean that company.
By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you use it for an organization, you confirm that you are authorized to act for that organization. If you do not agree, do not use the website except as reasonably necessary to review or save these terms and our other public notices.
2. Information site, not a store
topslop.ca provides information about Top Slop, its games, team, press materials, support, and company policies. As of the effective date, it does not sell the game or process payments.
A product description, planned feature, platform, release window, price, image, or other announcement on this website is informational unless we clearly identify it as a binding offer. Plans and availability may change before release. We will not use this section to alter a purchase already made or to avoid a representation that is binding under applicable law.
3. Limited permission to use the website
We give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, and non-transferable permission to access the website and make ordinary personal, editorial, or internal business use of its public pages. This permission does not transfer ownership or permit commercial exploitation of the site or its contents.
Search engines may use standard indexing methods that respect our technical instructions. Journalists and creators may use designated press materials only in accordance with the licence or usage note supplied with those materials.
4. Prohibited use
You must not use the website to:
- Break the law, violate another person’s rights, or encourage someone else to do so.
- Gain or attempt unauthorized access to a system, account, non-public page, source, credential, or data.
- Interfere with, overload, scan, test, disable, or circumvent the website or its security, rate limits, or technical controls without our prior written authorization.
- Introduce malware or use automation that causes an unreasonable load, ignores published technical instructions, or interferes with another visitor.
- Impersonate Top Slop or another person, misrepresent affiliation, forge a communication, or use the website for fraud or deception.
- Copy, republish, sell, frame, mirror, or commercially exploit a material part of the website except with permission or as allowed by law.
- Remove ownership, attribution, trademark, copyright, or generated-content notices.
- Use Top Slop’s name, logos, or visual identity in a way that suggests sponsorship, endorsement, or an official relationship that does not exist.
5. Intellectual property
The website, including its code, selection and arrangement, writing, graphics, interfaces, logos, visual identity, and original audiovisual materials, is owned by Top Slop or used with permission and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Top Slop and its logos are trademarks of 9574-5592 Québec inc.
Nothing in these terms grants a licence to use a trademark, game asset, soundtrack, character, screenshot, or other protected material beyond ordinary website access or a separate written permission. Rights granted by law—such as fair dealing—are not restricted by these terms.
6. Generated examples and third-party material
Some images displayed on the website may have been generated or edited during Top Slop gameplay from player text, photos, or other inputs. We identify generated examples where appropriate. Their appearance on the website does not guarantee that they are accurate, factual, suitable for another purpose, or free of every third-party right.
Publication does not grant you rights in a player’s contribution, a depicted person, a third-party trademark, or other underlying material. Do not reuse a generated example commercially or in a misleading, harmful, or unlawful way without first obtaining every permission the intended use requires.
7. External services and links
The website may link to Steam, social networks, video hosts, status services, or other websites operated by third parties. A link is provided for convenience and does not mean that Top Slop controls or endorses everything on the external service.
Your use of an external service is governed by its own terms, privacy policy, accessibility, availability, and commercial practices. Top Slop is not responsible for a third party’s service, but nothing in this section limits a responsibility that the law does not permit us to exclude.
8. Communications, feedback, and unsolicited ideas
A normal email or form submission does not create a confidential, fiduciary, employment, partnership, or professional relationship. Do not send trade secrets, security credentials, unreleased creative work, or other confidential material unless we have first agreed in writing on how it will be handled.
We do not accept unsolicited game concepts, stories, characters, mechanics, artwork, or similar creative proposals. This avoids disputes when our own work resembles an idea sent without request. We may delete or decline to review such a submission. This paragraph does not take ownership of your work.
If we specifically ask for feedback, you may provide it voluntarily. We may use non-confidential feedback to evaluate or improve Top Slop, subject to our privacy policy and any separate playtest agreement. We will not publish your identity or private message merely because you sent feedback.
9. Privacy
Our privacy policy explains the personal information processed when you visit the website, contact us, or use the game and related playtests. It also explains retention, providers, processing outside Quebec, and your privacy rights. These terms do not expand the purposes described in that policy.
10. Availability, accessibility, and corrections
We work to keep the website useful, secure, and accessible, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every page will always be current or error-free. We may maintain, change, move, or withdraw website content. This does not permit us to withhold a legally required notice or change a completed purchase.
Report a factual, technical, or accessibility problem to support@topslop.ca. We welcome a reasonable opportunity to investigate and correct it.
11. Disclaimers and limits permitted by law
The website and its general informational content are provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, we do not make additional implied promises about continuous access, fitness for a particular purpose, or the completeness of preliminary product information.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so is prohibited, including liability for intentional or gross fault or for bodily or moral injury under Quebec law. Nothing excludes fraud, a legally binding representation, or a warranty, remedy, or other consumer right that cannot lawfully be waived.
12. Consumer and purchase rights preserved
If you are a consumer, these terms do not waive rights granted by the Consumer Protection Act, the Civil Code of Québec, or another mandatory law that applies to you. There is no mandatory arbitration clause, class-action waiver, or restriction on contacting a consumer-protection authority in these website terms.
A purchase made through Steam or another storefront is governed by the purchase information, refund rules, legal guarantees, and agreement applicable to that transaction. These website terms do not reduce those rights and are not a substitute for the information a merchant must provide before an online purchase.
13. Governing law and disputes
These website terms are governed by the laws of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Subject to a consumer’s mandatory rights and any court that has jurisdiction by law, disputes concerning the website may be brought before the courts of the judicial district of Montréal, Quebec.
Before starting formal proceedings, you may write to legal@topslop.ca so we can try to understand and resolve the issue. This invitation does not shorten a limitation period or require arbitration, mediation, or a waiver of court access.
14. French and English versions
Complete French and English versions are available and are intended to have the same meaning and effect. You may access either version on terms that are equally favourable. Nothing in these terms asks you to waive a right to receive services, commercial information, a contract, or related documents in French.
If the versions appear inconsistent, contact legal@topslop.ca. They must be interpreted in a manner consistent with mandatory Quebec language and consumer law.
15. Changes and general provisions
We may update these terms prospectively when the website, our practices, or the law changes. We will publish the new date and provide appropriate notice of a material change. A change does not retroactively alter a completed transaction or remove an accrued mandatory right.
If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, it is read down or severed only to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a provision is not a waiver. These terms, the privacy policy, and any policy expressly incorporated into them form the agreement governing topslop.ca; a separate written agreement governs where it says otherwise.
