About Top Slop
A small team building a large public record of bad decisions.
Top Slop is an independent party game created in Quebec by a two-person studio.
Why this game
The real event happens between the people in the room.
We like party games because the real event happens between the people in the room. The screen supplies a structure, keeps score, and occasionally introduces evidence. The players make it personal.
Live image generation gave us a new kind of game piece: immediate, unpredictable, and meaningful only because somebody you know asked for it. Top Slop is built around that relationship. The machine does not need to be clever. It needs to give the room something specific to argue about.
Two people, two jobs, one shared scoreboard.
The teamGame conception and production
Production, and the systems that hold a complete game night together — from the room on the television to the private choices on every phone.
Game conception and artistic direction
Artistic direction, and the visual identity that gives every mode its own world while keeping the whole night recognizably Top Slop.
We credit the work by role rather than by name. For anything that needs a named contact, write to hello@topslop.ca.
How we work
Made in both languages, for a room with the lights on.
Top Slop is made in English and French from the beginning. It is designed first for friends sharing a room, with phones used as private controllers rather than smaller copies of the television. We treat generated imagery as unstable material to design around—not as an excuse to leave decisions to a model.
